Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday met the families of the martyrs who lost their lives in the accidental blast in Nowgam here last month and handed over appointment letters to their next of kin on compassionate grounds.
The gesture, LG Sinha, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, reflects the UT administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the families of the fallen live with dignity and support.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the LG said the entire nation stands united with them in their moment of grief. “The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of martyrs to ensure they live a life of comfort and dignity,” LG Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor also praised the Jammu and Kashmir Police for unearthing and dismantling a major terror network linked to the Delhi blast.
He said the force’s swift action and professionalism have once again proven their critical role in safeguarding the region.
“The whole country is proud of J&K Police for stopping terror in its tracks by unearthing and dismantling the terror network last month,” he said, applauding the officers and personnel involved.
LG Sinha commended the police for their meticulous investigation and multi-layered approach that ensured the detection, disruption and prevention of further terrorist activity. “J&K Police’s meticulous investigation and multi-faceted effort to detect, disrupt and prevent terrorist acts deserve the highest appreciation,” he noted.
The LG stressed the need to intensify efforts to dismantle the infrastructure that sustains terrorism, particularly its financial channels. He called for a strong and coordinated response to counter radicalisation attempts being pushed by separatist elements.
“We must disrupt the terrorist financing pipeline and effectively counter the radicalisation attempts by certain separatist elements,” he said, urging agencies to maintain strict vigilance and robust coordination.
He renewed assurances of support to the families of the martyrs and a firm commitment from the administration to continue its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
